Michael Barringer
Michael’s paintings draw you in. His abstract works speak in a visual vocabulary of symbols that feel already known — primal, familiar, timeless. The flower of life. Infinity. The balance of yin and yang. A language with no borders, understood intuitively by all people, regardless of culture or era.
Then the colors catch you. Bright but subtle, built up in deliberate layers of acrylic, oil, colored pencil, and modelling paste on canvas, the surfaces are richly textured and rewards a closer look. Expressive and playful yet considered enough to sit beautifully in a contemporary interior without overwhelming the space. These are paintings that say something different to everyone who stands in front of them — but something true to all of them.
