Kathleen Mulcahy
“In my work, as Paul Klee put it, there is a “devotion to small things” – frog’s eggs that lace a pond, a drop of rain, the deep browns of a river bed, the way the wind kicks up and the gentle bending of a torso reaching for water. Each of these things finds a place in my memory and informs my sculpture and installations.”
Kathleen Mulcahy lives and works in Pennsylvania with her husband and partner, Ron Desmett. Since the 1980s, they have worked as independent glass artists on projects for installation in private collections, homes, corporate offices, public art projects and solo exhibitions throughout the United States. Mulcahy has won many awards including grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation and the Fulbright Foundation.
